The Throsby

Tucked away on Kembla Street right in the heart of Wollongong CBD is The Throsby –  the perfect spot to start or end your night when you're looking for a place to unwind with friends.  Choose from its wide range of wines, beers on tap, boutique spirits and cocktails. If you're feeling peckish, opt for one of their cheese & charcuterie boards – there are more than 20 different cheeses for you to choose. Open Tuesday to Thursday from 4pm - 10pm; Friday and Saturday from 12 noon to midnight; Sunday from 4pm - 10pm.

Eat Street Markets

Every Thursday, Wollongong’s Crown Street Mall transforms into a food haven with a delicious range of exciting food stalls from local restaurants and traders. Succulent ribs, hot dumplings, yummy hotdogs, fresh Asian salads, tasty burgers, and gourmet desserts – and much more! Grab some food, sit back and relax to some funky music and chill out with your friends at the Gong's weekly highlight.

Crown Street Mall

For the shoppers, head to Crown Street Mall, the pedestrian-only precient where you'll find David Jones, JB Hi Fi, Rebel Sport, Greater Union and our newest edition H&M. It's also adjoined to Wollongong Central, the newly renovated shopping center with an extensive range of fashion brands and specialty retailers, as well as hidden local gems waiting for you to discover.

Wollongong Breakwater Lighthouse

Known affectionately by the locals as the "Old Wollongong Lighthouse", this decommissioned historic landmark stands on the end of the southern breakwater of Wollongong Harbour. Built in 1871, it was listed as a heritage building in 2000 and was restored to its full glory in 2002. It continues to shine as a beacon to the community changing colours to support local & national charity.

Wollongong City Beach

Our classic coastal living is shared with our guests. Behind our neighbours lies surf & sand. An early morning jog, an evening stroll or a cheeky swim are perfectly doable. Local eateries pepper the beachfront so grab a bite while you're out there.

Port Kembla Beach

Port Kembla Beach, regarded as one of Wollongong's most prestigious beaches, is another must-go destination. The surf club, perched on the high fore dune, was established in 1910, with bathing at Port Kembla Beach dating back to the 1900s and the first dressing sheds erected in 1912. There's also a large Olympic-sized salt water pool on the northern rocks.

Russell Vale Golf Course

Golfers out there, check out the Russell Vale Golf Course, just 15 minutes' drive from the hotel and boasting a commanding escarpment position with panoramic views of Illawarra’s coastline. Go to www.russellvalegolfclub.com.au for further information.

Lake Illawara

Whether it's sailing, waterskiing, canoeing or fishing that rocks your boat, Lake Illawarra is the perfect place to experience the great outdoors. The second largest saltwater lake in New South Wales, it’s also home to a rich diversity of aquatic birds, including black swans and pelicans. Beautiful social areas surround the lake with BBQ & shelter options scattered along the shore and natural lagoons for cooling off on a hot day.
